I recently posted about the future of social being visual and it’s important to note that this trend will make it increasingly difficult for businesses such as Radian6 to provide data “contained in the image”. I created a small collage of some of my Instagram images to help make the point. What kinds of information can be implied from the images below?

Implications aside, the images all have a basic information if shot from a smartphone

  • Timestamp
  • Location
  • Device type

What kinds of other things can you extrapolate about the creator of these images? Now imagine coding for those things . . .
