I posted about the future of search being a three layer cake two years ago and in it I outlined a three tabbed SERP solution with social (filtered) results being first, business results being second and academic results on the third tab. I somehow missed this TED Talk (thanks to @jmarkow) from @elipariser on “filter bubbles”, where he outlines the pitfalls of having your content filtered for you in the name of personalization.
